How are dictation and meetings counted?
Separately. Free includes 30 minutes of dictation and one meeting of up to 30 minutes each month. Basic and Extended include unlimited dictation, with 3 or 20 hours of meetings. Both counts start again on the first of each month, and the app shows what's left.
What happens if I run out?
A meeting in progress is never cut off. Celery warns you as your meeting time runs low, and a new meeting waits until the month starts over or you change plans. On Free, dictation pauses at 30 minutes until the 1st.
How does the free week work?
Signing in starts seven days with no card needed: up to 500 minutes of dictation and 3 hours of meetings. If you don't subscribe, you move to Free when it ends, and nothing you recorded is deleted.
What does unlimited dictation mean?
As much normal, interactive dictation into your apps as you like, with no hidden cap. It doesn't cover automated transcription, continuous background recording, bulk file transcription, resale or a shared account.
Is there an iPhone app?
Yes, in beta on TestFlight. It adds a Celery keyboard you can dictate with in any app, and Thoughts: talk an idea through and get it back written up. Same account and same plan as your Mac.
Why do plans cost more in the iPhone app?
Apple takes a share of anything bought inside an iPhone app, so the App Store price is a little higher. Subscribe from the Mac app instead and the same plan works on your iPhone.
How do I cancel?
Any time, from inside the app: on the Mac in Settings → Account, or in your iPhone's Settings if you subscribed there. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for.
